Motorcycle Insurance – Ride Protected in Tennessee

Tennessee roads were made for riding—whether you're carving curves through the Smokies or heading down Route 11E through Morristown, having the right motorcycle insurance isn’t just smart, it’s required. At Queener Insurance, we help riders across East Tennessee get the protection they need for their bike, their gear, and their peace of mind.

Coverage for Your Motorcycle Adventures

Riding in Tennessee offers freedom like no other, but every great ride carries risk. From backroads in Jefferson County to scenic stretches near the Cherokee National Forest, we insure all types of bikes—cruisers, sportbikes, touring motorcycles, trikes, and more.

Tennessee law requires motorcycle liability insurance, but that’s just the beginning. We’ll help you build a policy that covers your ride and everything that goes with it—so you’re protected on every trip, not just the ones with perfect weather.

Motorcycle Insurance Coverage Options That Matter

A good motorcycle policy does more than check a legal box. Here’s what we’ll help you consider:

  • Liability Insurance – Covers bodily injury or property damage you may cause while riding. Tennessee requires minimum limits of 25/50/15, but we often recommend more.

  • Collision Coverage – Pays to repair or replace your motorcycle if you're in an accident, no matter who’s at fault.

  • Comprehensive Coverage – Protects against theft, fire, vandalism, deer strikes (a real concern on East TN roads), and other non-collision losses.

  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist – Helps cover your injuries if someone hits you and doesn’t have enough (or any) insurance.

  • Medical Payments – Optional coverage that helps with your medical bills after a crash.

  • Accessory Coverage – Covers custom parts, chrome upgrades, saddlebags, or performance equipment beyond the standard factory setup.

  • Roadside Assistance & Trip Interruption – Some carriers offer help if you're stranded far from home.

We’ll tailor a package based on your bike, your habits, and your priorities—whether you’re riding a Harley, a Honda, or anything in between.

Discounts Riders Can Actually Use

We’ll make sure your premium reflects your experience and your efforts to stay safe. Possible discounts include:

  • Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) course completion
  • Bundling with your auto or home insurance
  • Multi-bike discounts
  • Mature or experienced rider savings
  • Membership in qualifying riding associations

Even if it’s your first motorcycle or you're returning to riding after a break, we’ll shop multiple carriers to get the best rate.

East Tennessee Roads, Real Risks, & Local Knowledge

From navigating traffic near downtown Morristown to exploring remote stretches through Hamblen or Sevier County, we know the unique risks riders face here in Tennessee. We encourage riders to consider:

  • Higher Uninsured Motorist limits, since bikes are often overlooked by distracted drivers

  • Helmet use, which is mandatory in TN and can reduce both injuries and costs

  • Seasonal riding habits, especially if your bike is garaged in the winter—we’ll find a plan that works year-round or offers lay-up coverage when needed

Our team understands motorcycle insurance from a rider’s perspective—not just from behind a desk.

Why Riders Choose Queener Insurance

We’re not a 1-800 number. We’re a local, independent insurance agency based right here in Morristown. That means:

  • We can quote motorcycle policies from top carriers like Progressive and others that specialize in bike insurance
  • We can bundle your motorcycle, auto, and home for even more savings
  • We’re here when you need us—with answers, advice, and real support if you have a claim

Whether you ride daily or just on sunny weekends, we’ll treat your coverage like it’s our own.

Get a Motorcycle Insurance Quote Before Your Next Ride

Ready to hit the road with confidence? We just need a few quick details—bike make and model, engine size (CCs), and your driver info. We’ll compare multiple quotes and help you understand your options clearly.

And if you only ride part of the year, don’t cancel your policy in winter—we can explore seasonal options that maintain coverage while you’re parked.

  • Is motorcycle insurance mandatory in Tennessee?

Yes, if you ride a motorcycle in TN, you must carry at least the state’s minimum liability insurance (25/50/15 similar to auto). This covers damages or injuries you might cause to others. However, it’s wise to get more than the minimum and also protect your own bike – we’ll help you determine the right coverage levels.

  • Does my motorcycle policy cover guests riding my bike or me when I ride someone else’s bike?

Typically, if you lend your motorcycle to a friend and they have an accident, your motorcycle policy would be primary in covering the damage (liability). It may also have provisions for guest passenger liability if you carry a passenger. If you occasionally ride someone else’s bike, in many cases their insurance would cover it, but it’s good to have your own policy with broad coverage. We can walk you through scenarios to make sure you’re covered.

  • Can I pause my motorcycle insurance in the winter?

While some riders consider canceling insurance in the off-season, we generally advise against fully canceling it. Your bike could still be stolen or damaged in your garage. Instead, some carriers offer a “lay-up” credit or seasonal rates, where coverage for collision might be reduced during winter months. We can find an insurer that accommodates seasonal riding so you maintain protection year-round without paying full price when the bike is stored.

  • Do you insure ATVs or dirt bikes as well?

Yes, we have coverage options for a variety of recreational vehicles. Off-road vehicles like ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes can be insured (usually on a separate policy similar to motorcycle insurance). Let us know what you have, and we’ll include those in your quote if needed.

  • What if I customize my motorcycle with aftermarket parts?

Be sure to inform us of any expensive custom parts or accessories. Standard policies include some accessory coverage (for your custom exhaust, saddle bags, etc.), but if you’ve added a lot of upgrades, we can add additional coverage for accessories to make sure those investments are covered. It’s usually an inexpensive add-on to increase that limit.
